Harold's lab results from this morning are looking worse. The Duke nurse called me this afternoon and said his platelet count dropped from 99,000 last Thursday to 75,000 today. And his white blood count dropped from 2.9 to 2.3. It's worrying us! She said that it's not totally uncommon. But, she is ordering more lab work for tomorrow. He cannot start back on the chemo until his labs are stable or where they want them to be. And decreasing is NOT what they want.
We are in Durham tonight and settled in the hotel. Harold's first appt will come early! The nurse said that she was going to send a copy of the labs to Dr. Friedmans office since we meet with him later tomorrow morning. She suggested that we talk to him about it and see if he can "slide" us into the oncology department next door to discuss this.
Of course, Harold hasn't been feeling well the last couple days either. He says he feels achey and tired. He took a nap over 3 hours today. Makes me think he's got an infection or something going on. He's not running a fever...he checked that earlier. So, I guess we'll have to wait and see what the labs look like tomorrow morning. Please pray that they have gone up!!
Have a good night!
